Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis cars will "soon" get access to "fresh information about 250 million places around the world from Google Maps", the three brands announced.
This will enhance navigation accuracy "using Google Maps' vast information about places, which includes fresh details about business hours, contact information, ratings, reviews, and more", the official press release states.
Kia EV9The first to experience these enhancements will be Kia drivers in North America. The new feature will be subsequently expanded to Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis models globally.
The Hyundai Motor Group, which encompasses the aforementioned three brands, is also adopting the Android Automotive OS for future models, expecting "to secure an innovative edge in the software-defined vehicle technology space and lead the future mobility market" by doing so.
