BYD has today launched the 2025 version of the Song Plus EV, first unveiled last year. The new model comes with an unchanged starting price, but with added features. The car still starts at CNY 149,800 (approximately $20,900 at the current exchange rates).
The entry-level model gets 323 miles of CLTC range, while the top dog costs CNY 175,800 ($24,600) and reaches 376 miles of CLTC range. The top version is CNY 14,000 ($1,900) cheaper than it used to be.
The base model has a 71.8 kWh battery, while the top iteration comes with a capacity of 87.04 kWh. Power is 150 kW with 310 Nm of torque for the cheapest version and 160 kW with 330 Nm of torque for the most expensive one.
The new Song Plus adds 50W wireless charging for phones, and a heated steering wheel. It also comes with 5G network connectivity for all versions, not just the top one as its predecessor.
The Song family is the best-selling in BYD's stable, contributing more than 24% of the brand's total sales from January to July when 471,805 of them were sold.
