Volvo, like all car makers out there, is all about SUVs these days. But historically, no other brand has been as synonymous with a wagon as Volvo, and the carmaker is carrying its heritage in the EV age.
Speaking to WhichCar, Volvo's head of global offer Warren Davidson affirms to wagon lovers that "Volvo is not a company that disregards its heritage," and is a company that has "done beautiful wagons for years."
He then adds that thanks to Geely's scalable EV platform, Volvo is making a fully electric wagon in the "not-so-distant future".
According to Volvo's head of strategy Erik Severinson, it's mainly Europe that still buys wagons. But he thinks there is still customer demand for wagons, especially in Sweden, which is a very receptive market.
Of course, Volvo is still focusing mostly on SUVs. Per Severinson "the family car is an SUV in most places in the world and Volvo is a family brand."
