This is made by GAC. GAC is under pressure in China like all other auto makers to deliver EVs. Global Toyota is in no hurry to dump ICE due to contracts and partnerships with combustion engine parts manufacturers. Toyota in the rest of the world will keep milking ICE and keep on trying to sell Hybrids like they do now unless or until some western government tries to stop them.

I hope we will. As I currently have 4th Toyota (started owning Toyota and continueing) from my life living in Europe, next car one of these would be wonderfull to own
