Have you had a chance to test drive the 2023 Model 3 LFP? I recently purchased one and am wondering what the real-world range would be on a road trip...
Who Dat, 24 Mar 2024The thing about the Model Y is that the vehicle is an absolute minimalism with no features tha... moretest result so biased to favor Tesla. Look here https://ev-database.org/car/1993/Kia-EV9-998-kWh-AWD-GT-Line and here https://ev-database.org/car/1619/Tesla-Model-Y-Long-Range-Dual-Motor
ev-database show totally different result from what you get. They showing fairly close numbers for the two car while your result far apart. Looking at the highway result alone for tesla at 110km/h they show 405 while your calculator show a lot more. The opposite happens for the Kia ev9 (they show more range, you show less in 110 km/h). Whoever did this test should really go back to check what going on. Otherwise I will have to believe this test&calculator is rigged to favor Tesla.
TH, 18 Mar 2024Yeah, I don't buy these figures. My Tesla seriously underreports its own consumption (eve... moreWhat real live range do you typically get?
The thing about the Model Y is that the vehicle is an absolute minimalism with no features that would add any weight to it. It doesn't even have grab handles for the passengers. So yeah, it can go the distance, if range is an absolute must.
Whereas, my Nissan Ariya Evolve has panoramic moonroof that opens and shuts, has an electric motor sunshade cover, rear spoiler with rear wiper, and etc. All those add weight tinthr vehicle at 4600Lbs. Yet. I still get an average of 310-330 miles of range with mostly city driving (75%) and highway driving (25%)..
I have owned the Ariya for 13 months now and the range is fairly consistent.
Yeah, I don't buy these figures. My Tesla seriously underreports its own consumption (even though it can predict consumption quite well).
Please do the test by dividing actual battery consumption in kWh (or percent, as shown by the charging software) and actual distance driven, not the figures that the car indicates.
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2024Great to see the Model Y LR range test! Can you repeat the test with 4 people on board, luggag... more4 people on board will hardly make any difference.
The "maybe surf" will definitely will. Carwow has a nice video about it.
Great to see the Model Y LR range test! Can you repeat the test with 4 people on board, luggage and maybe a surfboard on the roof?
EVs are better in the city, ICE cars rule the highway. My hillside home messes up EPA numbers, but at least EVs get a boost going downhill!
