after gov stop subsidizing E... more1) Why would they care about what happened in Germany in December 2023? This is likely a China only EV and if moving outside of China, Scandinavia is likely the next market. Also, 2023 as a whole ended on a 11.4% growth in the BEV market.
2) Charging time does not equal waiting time. I do not miss the time wasted going to the gas station, and hopefully on a day with low prices and no queue. With EV one doesn't have to waste time like that. Just plug it in when you get home, if you need to that day and next. For most people that isn't even necessary every day as most cars now have more that 350km range and very few drive anywhere near that daily, or weekly. I have had an EV since 2016 and never missed my previous petrol cars and don't ever want one ever again. The convenience of EVs is far more superior that I ever thought in advance.
3) When legacy car manufacturers stop producing EVs a low quantities and miss out on the benefits of proper mass productions, then the prices will be lower than an equivalent fossil fuel car.
4) EVs have much fewer moving parts and are less dependent on correct use not to fail. I.e. if you live in the city and mostly drive short trips, a diesel will clog up the EGR valve and here that cost around 2000 EUR to fix and it is a very common issue. In winter time, regardless if diesel or petrol, driving short trips means the 12V battery gets closer and closer to death as it drains quite significantly starting the engine.
Everything I once had a combustion version of, that has since been replaced by battery + electric motor has been massive wins. Petrol lawnmower, where the petrol went bad from one summer to the next and rought to start at times vs. first going electric manual mower and now robot mower is not even worth looking back. Same goes for snow blower, chain saws, RC cars etc. All the extra work necessary is gone. Including all the times running over to an overturned RC car before it conked out! Everything just works so much more effortlessly.
I have driven past 130.000 km in my current car. So far I have not even changed the brakes, only cabin filters and squirts of oil on doors and charging lid. On my last car, Toyota Avensis, I would have had to replace the brakes 3 times by now. The automatic one just ate brake discs in this hilly environment I live in. Now it is re-gen instead. And the engine blew twice in the Avensis by the time it reached 110.000 km. Known fault, of course. As all major faults are with petrol and diesel cars.

I guess that's why so many Chinese brands copy Tesla. Tesla is the Apple of cars. And that's a good thing.

It is an uglier and cheaper-looking Tesla, but at a higher retail price and without the supercharger network.
So far the reviews are underwhelming.
