There are other reasons people buy cars for but after all it's all about most efficient means of transport and that means attractive entry point - price will always be the king.

Many of them don't really care about efficiency - just want to get an electric motor in any sort of the car and get it sold because that's what people are buying now. But as the time goes by the competition will heat up - it already is. More choice, more models and the fight moves on from who's first to the market to who's best - most efficient, fastest and so on. Give it time.

Max wants to know which exceed expectations n disappointments. For me above € 50K EV's can't decide from this experiment cause they are more to the side of how luxurious they can be.
The disappointment are the EV sharing the same platform end up with different results, AWD falls behind RWD/FWD of the same car (IMO AWD is also for efficiency), didn't mention whether 58/77 for Cupra.
Exceed expectations, Megane from such a small battery. But might not be my choice due to small trunk even though its lightest after ZS.
ZS first cause of value.
Pole Star FWD second cause of range.
Kia LR RWD third or second cause of 800V.
Megane third or fourth cause small battery might suffer degradation worse than bigger ones in long term.
It only shows one thing - almost all manufacturers do not care for efficiency, which is really sad on a platform that has a huge potential to pretty much double the efficiency of ICE.
Sad results for most of the cars.
Edit: But TBH, I am shocked they were able to reach a lot of those range figures. 80 kWh+ pack will get you decent range, even with woeful efficiency it seems.
Glad to see my favorite brand BMW near the top of this test.
BMW i4 is not even based on an EV platform and still shows good results, the VAG and Hyundai offers are well below.
