But these car companies have more than enough resources & capabilities to scare the $#!¥ out of lazy indian brands.
Tata Nexon-The highest selling EV in india costs 18 Lakh. Don't you find it absurd that a vehicle like Nexon could cost 18 Lakh?? For 18 Lakh you can get Honda City Hybrid,Toyota Hyruder Hybrid...Hybrids make much more sense compared to EVs,right now in india...waiting for govt to finally reduce realise that EVs that they're promoting as savior of environment, all while >70% electricity itself is coming from Coal...so it's way worse than Bruning petrol....so Hybrids are better choice right now.

Take a look at India's domestic cars. They all look like copy/paste of others.
Example - What does the new 2024 Maruti Swift look like?
I dont see a point considering they are not sold here. Unless they are trying to target volvo or polestar for whom Geely have a stake. This is going to keep US further behind the curve on what is happening elsewhere.

It doesn't really matter that China is a communistic country, even If they had democracy It would be the same.
The cars aren't the national security concern.
It's the Chinese. Keep Chinese poor/hungry == less influence on the world.
As Brits often say, "The Chinese need to know their place"
So electric cars are a national security concern? Thread?
If something is not advantageous to the US It's a national security risk etc, etc.
They can apply tariff's or even ban the imports, but they shouldn't be surprised If the same will be applied against their companies.
In the long run I don't believe such measures will a positive effect on US economy or the world economy, It will just disrupt the existing supply chains and make everything more expensive.
