Anonymous, 20 Aug 2024Wow!! What a thought process "You don't use a thing means nobody needs it". 👏Seems like you need it. Then, please tell me why you need android auto and how you use it while driving. Because your reply shows that you took a sentence out of context and generalized its message to criticize my comment.
In my opinion, Android Auto and similar systems are redundant since we already had Bluetooth and navigation and the additional, fancy features that android auto offers will rarely be used because you got no time while driving to be distracted by such silly stuff. The everyday life which is being portrayed in commercials has no relation to reality. Nobody drives out of a garage next to his giant villa and asks his car's voice assistant what the weather will be like today. in real life, an average person wakes up in his apartment, switches on the tv to watch the weather forecast or looks it up in his phone's weather app. After that, the person leaves the residential building, walks to the parking lot and drives away to work. Life is simple as that.

"The seamless integration of our smartphones with our cars has become an integral part of modern driving, and Android Auto has been at the forefront of this revolution."
I never ever needed this. And I think nobody needs this. A simple Bluetooth connection with the car for music and phone calls is more than enough. And if the car dveroesn't have navigation, I just use my phone for this matter.
Simply because some managers from the automotive industry decided to implement certain features, such as using mobile apps on your cars display, in order to boost their marketing campaigns it doesn't mean that people actually asked for such useless things. There is no revolution. People just want a car that has good value for money, a radio, comfortable seats and that won't break down in the next 10 years. All of this is possible with todays technologies but what we get from car manufacturers are low-quality, overpriced cars that have no more physical buttons or a durable interior but they are filled up with dozens of tablets and touch sensitive buttons just because they are cheaper to produce than real buttons and rotary buttons. Moreover, they are impossible to use while driving since you need to always look at them to ensure that you don't tap the wrong button.
Imagine telling people from 20 years ago that in the future they will rent (lease) cars because they cannot afford to buy them! They would be shocked.
And the electric "revolution" is further accelerating this trend towards low quality and high prices.
