We are back to the USSR of the seventies! Maybe we will see a democratic régime like North Korea with all males obliged to have the president's haircut!
More seriously, history shows that absurd bans or statospherical taxes on imports are prejudicial tp economy after a very short time.

America wants to become like Russia, where everything is banned, life is expensive and boring in the same time. I think it's great that America is following in the footsteps of Russia, soon they will become a fifth world country like Russia.

Seems like the 100% tariffs are not enough to dissuade Americans from buying Chinese EVs and they have to ban them altogether.

Their plans will fail miserably,. This only shows their hypocritical policies and that their calls for "free markets" is only when their companies get the chance to dominate local competition in other countries, but when any other company uses the "free market" in the US, they are hit with tariffs and bans (Huawei, TikTok, Chinese automakers... etc.).

judik7, 15 Jan 2025Welcome to the "free market" country where only one country is allowed to dominate. It's not like this is anything new.
USA became the only superpower after the breakup of Soviet Union and they don't want to lose the position or share with others, that's all.

There should be a rule that for every law created, there should be two laws removed.
There should be a rule that every new law must have an expiration date of less than the term of office or four years, whichever comes first.
