My son and I put the deposit down. There is no way that we would buy 1 now. First the price is almost double the initial estimate. Secondly the quality is no where near what was promised. Thirdly, the ford electric truck is a much better truck at 1/2 the price. Fourth that truck has a target on it. Who wants to buy a truck that you fear is going to be keyed everytime you go into the store. And lastly who wants to be associated with someone as cruel as Elon. No matter your affiliation, he's just a dick who cares nothing about any of us!!!

I wouldn't drive that piece of crap if you gave it to me for free. Despite Elon Musk being a Nazi, people are vandalizing Teslas right and left. (Can't blame them). The Cybertruck looks like a garbage bin on wheels. Tesla stock is ranking by the day!

Love it, until you consider it was 60% over budget (initial sales price). Then you account for the fact that build quality is crap. Finally, no interest in supporting a nazi. These are in order of timeline of events.

It's not that people did not want to buy them they just priced it out of reach of most people. If they were $40,000 instead of $80,000 they would sell a lot.

Honestly I’d get one if Musk wasn’t such a pariah. Hard to support them now, and even if you were aligned politically who really needs all that attention where people assume you’re a representation of him. Tesla needs a new leader, given all he has in his plate he’s a figure head at best, and he’s hurting the company more than helping.

Seems like the sales predictions were as meaningful as Musk's bi-annual claim of "fully autonomous driving next year".
The difference is that those boost stock prices without costing the company anything (at least until the traders decide they've heard the same story too often and lose confidence), while this has cost them real money.
