they will give away 100's of these to employees' families and "friends".. try to get them on the road, and some suckers will buy them.. but the whole brand will disappear into oblivion within 2 years.
Disclaimer: I am an engineer working at Evergrande NEV.
Typically a new automotive startup will do one or more of these for the first vehicle - buy a design/platform/chassis from another OEM, do minimal localization, re-badge the vehicle, buy a manufacturing plant, assemble and launch in the market. However, Evergrande NEV is doing what very few other automotive startups(EV or otherwise) have attempted. Completely design a vehicle ground-up. A huge challenge for company that was making its first foray into technology, let alone automotive business that comes with its own set of challenges. In this pursuit, we have worked with some the best suppliers, partners in helping design and put the complete vehicle together. Sure, it is very ambitious and one that we are all proud of. I believe the customers will receive the vehicle with enthusiasm and the success will encourage us to deliver the subsequent models.
