As for quality, in all honesty I don't think they will even try improving much. If anything, they will most likely try to give as little as possible - look at the Citroen Oli or Ami, that's the direction we are heading in. Two prong approach - basic cars but cheap, cars well equipped but prices. The middle will be taken care of by a used car market.
Europe must be careful, as China uses its WTO developing nation status, IP preferences, government strong-arming, and outright theft to force out competitors. They did it with rare earth metals processing and will do it within any industry the CCP deems strategically important. You'd think the EU would have learned something from its gas policies debacle.

So possibly less choise in the future as a lot of brands might not make it, because they totally underestimated this market, will heavily invest in battery development and will be crushed by competition.
Unless EU will ban some manufacturers on their market ofc.
I might be overly pessimistic, but considering the qualit and price of European EVs, I see no other outcome.

I really wonder what wi... moreEuropean brands are still asleep, still think they can sell us overpriced tin buckets :) There is more to it, it's hard to compete with Chinese automakers on manufacturing costs thanks to their government subsidies. In many instances their costs are a fraction of what European companies have to deal with. We, the customers benefit from that and we get to vote with our wallets. It's all about having a choice.
