Latest announcement from Polestar shows the company is performing really well in the current market with 32,000 orders placed for the Polestar 2 since the beginning of this year. The company is growing exponentially with 130 retail locations across 25 countries and 30 more locations being developed. Only two years ago the company was present in just 10 countries.
This growth is to continue with the company expanding its model lineup with recently announced Polestar 3 and Polestar 5. Until now the automaker has sold 55,000 of its Polestar 2 model but with the new additions coming to the showrooms the former Volvo performance arm is going from strength to strength.
Polestar 3 - the upcoming sports SUVWe got another sneak preview of the upcoming models as part of that same press release. In the main photo we see the entire Polestar model range - from Polestar 2 to Polestar 5. Next to Polestar 2 we have the recently announced sports SUV Polestar 3. The car will have its global premiere in October this year.
Next to it, still covered up, is the Polestar 4 - the SUV coupe that will follow its bigger sibling to the market early in 2023. Both cars will share a lot of components with the 4 being basically a sportier version of the larger Polestar 3.
Still under wraps - Polestar 4The final car in the lineup is the Polestar 5 - the performance 4-door GT that the company was teasing not so long ago. That model will be officially unveiled in 2024 but we will have a sneak preview at the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed next week. The car is in advanced development stages and it is pretty much in its production shape with only minor changes expected.
Polestar 5 - the upcoming 4-door electric GTPolestar was only established as an independent company 5 years ago and it is very uniquely positioned in the market with support from Volvo and Geely giving it an upper hand compared to other young automakers. Now it will additionally benefit from its first independent investment into StoreDot and its super fast charging batteries - good things are on the horizon.
The company has plans to sell 160,000 vehicles per year from 2025 which is easily achievable looking at its current order books. The manufacturing capacity is growing and Polestar is scaling up using help from Volvo and Geely.
