Tesla had a wonderful 2022, and the company wants everyone to know about it too. It just released its sales numbers for both the fourth quarter (October-December) as well as the full year that's now behind us.
The record-breaking Q4 saw Tesla produce 20,613 Model S and Model X vehicles and deliver 17,147 of them. The undisputed champions, however, were the Model 3 and Model Y, totaling 419,088 units produced and 388,131 deliveries, for a grand total of 439,701 cars produced during the quarter and 405,278 delivered.
Throughout the entirety of 2022, Tesla made 71,177 Model S and Model X cars, and delivered 66,705 of them. Model 3 and Model Y production was at 1,298,434 units, with 1,247,146 delivered. So the grand total for the year adds up to 1,369,611 produced cars and 1,313,851 delivered cars.
Compared to 2021, production grew 47%, and deliveries grew 40%. Tesla took the time to thank all of its customers, employees, suppliers, shareholders, and supporters who helped it achieve these record-breaking numbers, in spite of "significant COVID and supply chain related challenges throughout the year".
