Ford is now sending out an over-the-air update to all owners of the 2022 and 2023 F-150 Lightning. This rolled out to those enrolled in the early access program back in October, but it's only now making its way to everyone.
The big thing it brings is enabling a better charging curve, thanks to a bump in current from 450 amps to 500 amps. This results in faster DC charging.
Following the update, a 10% to 80% charge on a 350kW DC charger, which previously took 45 minutes, will now take just under 40 minutes. Granted, that's not the hugest change, but it is a welcome one anyway.
And this also finally brings the older 2022 and 2023 model-year F-150 Lightning models in line with the 2024 iteration which came with the faster charging curve from the factory.
