After a teaser earlier this week GAC Aion unveiled the Hyper GT, its second Hyper model.
The Hyper GT coupe is built on the GAC Aion AEP 3.0 platform and features butterfly doors with hidden handles. Its aerodynamic drag coefficient (Cd) of 0.19 is the lowest in the industry, beating previous champion Mercedes-Benz EQS, which had a Cd of 0.20.
The Hyper GT has a maximum power output of 250kW and a peak torque of 430Nm, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4 seconds.
The advanced chassis that Aion calls AICS enables a turning radius of just 5.3m and a braking distance of 35m from a 100km/h to a standstill.
The Hyper GT is available in two versions with either one or three LiDARs mounted on the roof.
The vehicle is also equipped with Fengyun III infrared remote sensing technology, which allows it to detect living beings in challenging conditions such as smog and sand.
On September 15th, GAC Aion launched its new luxury brand, Hyper, along with its first model - Hyper SSR. GAC Aion announced at the time that the car, which it claimed was the fastest-accelerating vehicle in the world, would begin full production and delivery in October of the following year.
Reservations for the GAC Aion Hyper GT are now open, but pricing and delivery dates are yet to be confirmed.
