Genesis has unveiled two stunning concept vehicles that give us a glimpse of the company's EV future. The Neolun Concept was unveiled in New York and takes a new EV design direction, while the G80 EV Magma Concept was unveiled in Beijing as part of Genesis's recent high-performance Magma program.
The Neolun Concept, a full-size electric SUV, takes its name from the Greek "neo" (new) and the Latin "luna" (moon). Its clean and minimalist design is truly eye-catching with coach doors and lack of B-pillars, creating an open interior to enhance passenger convenience. Side steps automatically deploy for effortless entry and exit for an extra touch of class.
Inside, the Neolun Concept is inspired by the traditional Korean heating system, ondol. Warmth is provided through radiant heating in the dashboard, door trims, floor, seatbacks, and console sides. For a truly multi-sensory experience, front seats pivot for added space, and the cabin boasts a state-of-the-art sound system.
Much closer to an actual road-ready vehicle is the G80 EV Magma Concept. The Magma program aims to inject high-performance excitement into every production model they create. Following the smaller GV60 Magma, the G80 EV Magma Concept provides a tantalizing preview of a future G80 model with a sporty driving experience. Although there aren't any details yet, we can expect upgraded motors, suspension tuned for precise handling, and even larger brakes that ensure confidence when you push its limits.
The G80 EV Magma Concept isn't just about power - the visual statement that power deserves is also quite important. It boasts an enhanced exterior compared to its production counterpart, with aerodynamic tweaks and bolder stance we could expect from the boosted G80. Inside, it has Magma orange accents and sporty bucket seats.
Genesis is really stepping up their EV game with these concepts. Can't wait to see what they actually come up with for production models based on these.
