Peugeot's fleet now includes a comprehensive range of 12 fully electric models, offering a wider selection than any other mainstream European manufacturer. The e-3008 and e-5008 are arguably the most interseting of the lot, though, targeting the popular SUV segment and offering by far the best range in the company's lineup.
The long-range models feature a 96.9 kWh battery, a significant upgrade from the already solid 73 kWh battery found in the standard versions. This extra capacity translates to a substantial boost in range. The E-3008 Long Range can now travel up to 435 miles on a single charge, while the E-5008 Long Range achieves 415 miles. This puts them ahead of many competitors, including the Tesla Model Y Long Range, which offers 351 miles of range.
The e-3008 and e-5008 Long Range can charge at up to 160 kW at DC chargers. This means you can charge from 20% to 80% in 27 minutes, or add 93 miles of range in 10 minutes. To optimize charging times, especially in cold weather, the vehicles feature battery pre-conditioning.
Peugeot is launching the Long Range versions of the e-3008 and e-5008 in two trim levels: Allure and GT. The e-3008 230 Long Range Allure starts at $52,140 while the GT trim is priced at $57,130. The e-5008 230 Long Range Allure starts at $57,130, and the GT trim comes in at $62,130.
Peugeot outfits the duo with a 210 hp (157 kW) electric motor with the 73 kWh battery, while the Long Range versions get 230 hp output. A 320 hp dual-motor all-wheel drive version of both SUVs is also on the way.
