Tesla's Cybertruck doesn't seem to have been a huge success, sales-wise, if we go by how quickly the company started selling in-stock units - oh, and there was also that recent production pause too.
But maybe this will help. The Cybertruck has just become eligible for the $7,500 US federal EV tax credit in its Dual Motor variant. Technically, the Single Motor qualifies as well, but that's not in production yet so the point is moot.
The Dual Motor Cybertruck costs just shy of the $80,000 limit for eligibility for the tax credit. It is, however, unclear how long the tax credit will still be offered, as the incoming Trump administration has signaled that it wants to end this Biden-era EV buying incentive.
In other words, if you want a Cybertruck and want to take advantage of the tax credit, you'd better move fast as there's no telling how long it's going to last.
