Dodge is pushing its new electric Charger into the spotlight with a vibrant new color and substantial discounts. The automaker launched the all-electric Charger Daytona not that long ago, and is now offering it in a new and distinctive “Bludicrous” blue. Alongside the new color, Dodge has also introduced a virtual experience allowing potential buyers to customize their dream Charger from the comfort of their homes. To sweeten the deal even more, Dodge is throwing in significant discounts.
The $795 new “Bludicrous” blue paint option adds a splash of color to the electric Charger, as if it wasn’t unique enough. This option joins a range of other interesting colors - After Dark, Destroyer Grey, Diamond Black, Peel Out, Redeye, Triple Nickel, and White Knuckle. Dodge will add the new color option to the upcoming four-door Charger and gas-powered SIXPACK models later this year.
Dodge has created a virtual experience for buyers wanting to experience the electric Charger but still on the fence about buying one. All you need to do is scan a QR code, and you can explore the Charger Daytona R/T and the high-performance Scat Pack model. The virtual tool allows users to customize their chosen model, selecting from various colors, interior themes, and package options. It even offers interactive features like opening and closing doors, folding seats, and activating lights, providing a comprehensive digital preview.
The $59,995 Charger Daytona R/T comes with 496 horsepower and accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The more powerful $73,190 Scat Pack model has 670 horsepower and can reach 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. This higher-performance model also delivers 627 lb-ft of torque, providing what Dodge describes as “SRT-like performance.”
Despite all the performance, the Charger isn’t selling as well as Dodge would have liked. To make the electric Charger more appealing, the company is offering some decent financial incentives. A $7,500 National Consumer Cash rebate is available on all 2024 Charger Daytonas. When combined with a $3,000 National Dodge Performance Days Combo Bonus Cash and a $2,000 conquest cash offer, buyers can save as much as $12,500. Additional offers include 0% interest for 72 months and a $3,000 Bonus Cash Allowance, or monthly leases starting at $519.
The Dodge Charger Daytona EV is a big step for the brand. It was always going to be controversial due to its muscle car heritage blended with modern electric technology. The combination of the new vibrant color, the virtual experience, and substantial discounts should make the electric Charger an easier pill to swallow for some buyers, but the hard-core muscle car crowd won’t be swayed anytime soon.
this blue is ugly. like pepsi blue. should've done a navy blue with red accents and white lighting. murica.
Dodge is really pulling out all the stops to make the electric Charger stand out. But will it work?
