VinFast's affordable mini SUV has officially started deliveries in Vietnam, about six months after the announcement earlier this year. The EV starts at VND 322 million ($12,800) with the battery included in the price, but customers can get a VF 3 for just VND 235 million ($9,250) through the company's battery subscription model.
VinFast offers its cheap mini SUV through an battery subscription scheme that reduces the upfront cost of the vehicle, but incurs monthly fees. VinFast keeps ownership of the battery and while the customer gets a subscription plan for as long as they keep the vehicle.
The VF 3 proved to be quite popular in Vietnam as the vehicle received 27,649 pre-orders in just 66 hours, breaking the local record.
Shipments have already begun and the company aims to ship at least 20,000 units by the end of this year and 80,000 total deliveries of vehicles by the end of 2024.
The VF 3 is supposed to launch overseas too. The first country to get the compact SUV is the Philippines, with Europe, Southeast Asia and the US to follow in 2025.
Nice design! Without cocky-unseful innovations of last decade. Hope panels and leds will not blinking (PWM)
VinFast has the worst looking vehicles, almost reminds me of designs from decades ago.
