Xiaomi's SU7 has been a resounding success, and back in July the company unveiled the SU7 Ultra concept, which then turned out to be destined for production - all 1,548 hp of it.
We've known for a while that the Ultra would arrive next year, and now we have an official unveiling date set for its production version: October 29.
In case the date seems familiar, it's because Xiaomi is announcing its latest flagship smartphones, the 15 and 15 Pro on the same day - at the same event, even.
According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, the production version of the SU7 Ultra will have the same chassis structure, triple motors, and battery pack as the prototype. So we're definitely curious to see what, if anything, will be different - aside from the lack of carbon fiber cladding, which Lei Jun already confirmed.
Xiaomi CEO Lei JunThe prototype could go from zero to 62 mph in 1.97 seconds, and from zero to 124 mph in 5.96 seconds. Its top speed is over 217 mph. Let's see if the production car will match those numbers.
