Mercedes-Benz is updating its EQS SUV for the 2024 model year with a significantly enhanced EPA range compared to its 2023 predecessor. This boost is enabled by a larger 118 kWh battery pack, a sizable upgrade from the previous 108.4 kWh unit.
The rear-wheel-drive EQS 450+ SUV now flaunts an EPA-estimated range of 339 miles, marking a substantial 34-mile increase over the 2023 model. Meanwhile, the all-wheel-drive variants, namely the 450 4Matic and 580 4Matic, offer a range of 330 miles. The opulent Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 4Matic manages to squeeze out 321 miles from the larger battery pack. Interestingly, the 450+ model sees a smaller range increase due to its now larger 21-inch wheels compared to the previous 20-inch ones.
Energy consumption has slightly increased across the board. The EQS 450+ SUV is rated to have an efficiency of 2.6 miles/kWh (4.18 km/kWh), while the all-wheel-drive models manage 2.5 miles/kWh (4.02 km/kWh). The energy-hungry Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 4Matic SUV does 2.4 miles/kWh (3.86 km/kWh).
The starting MSRP for the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV remains unchanged at $104,400 for the base model, with the all-wheel-drive version also maintaining its $107,400 price tag. However, the EQS 580 4Matic SUV sees a $1,400 price hike, now retailing at $127,350. And don't forget the additional $1,150 destination charge.
The price for the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 4Matic SUV, listed at $179,900, remains uncertain as the model currently listed on the manufacturer's website still features the older 108-kWh battery. Don't expect any of these luxurious EVs to qualify for the $7,500 federal tax credit, as their price tags easily exceed the $80,000 cap.

Are all designers at Mercedes dead? Why all Mercedes evs are like frog? There is nothing left for falling in love.
The price just keeps going up for these fancy electric SUVs, not worth it in my opinion.
