Audi has just showed the exterior of the Q6L e-tron at the Beijing Auto Show. The "L" in the name stands for longer-wheelbase. The car is in fact 4.13 inches longer than the standard version, and it's been tailor-made for the Chinese market. It's 192.3 inches long, 77.4 inches wide, and 66.4 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 117.9 inches.
Audi says the Q6L e-tron will deliver a CLTC range of over 435 miles when it makes its full public debut between October and December. The car will be made at a new factory in Changchun starting in "late 2024", and the first deliveries are expected to start next year.
The Q6L e-tron is the continuator of various "L" models for the Chinese market, such as the A6L, A4L, Q5L, and A8L. It has a redesigned 'face' with illuminated four rings logo, and it will be available in exclusive colors like Lilac Grey, the version shown at the Beijing Auto Show and which you can see in the images above and below.
The car has a newly developed 107 kWh gross capacity battery, 800V tech, and a maximum DC charging capacity of 270 kW. Audi boasts that you can recharge up to 162 miles in just ten minutes at a high power charging station, while going from 10% to 80% will take 25 minutes.
The Q6L will have a rear wheel drive version with a power output of 255 kW / 341 hp and an all-wheel drive quattro with 345 kW / 462 hp. It comes with 21-inch "aerodynamically optimized" wheels, and handles integrated "almost flush" into the door surfaces.
The interior will be "geared towards the needs of Chinese customers" according to Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, with numerous infotainment functions designed to meet customers' wishes and "reflect the requirements of the Chinese market", the official press release states.
A set of "highly sophisticated driver assistance systems" was "exclusively developed to meet Chinese customer expectations", including the adaptive Driving Assistant Pro and the Parking Assistant Pro, which will work with lidar and radar sensors, cameras, as well as ultrasonic sensors.
