BMW just announced its new HypersonX Soundscape, developed in-house that will be featured in the new Neue Klasse models this year. There are 43 sound signals tailored for Personal and Sport Modes.
The company says the HypersonX sound system is deeply integrated into Operating System X and utilizes advanced hardware and software to adapt the sounds to the current driving situation. It also allows occupants to customize the interior sound in real-time.
There are different modes like Calm, Free, Expressive, and Agile, each offering unique acoustic sounds and experiences. All tones are inspired by nature and structures from art and science. BMW calls it "human-centric design".
The audio control lets you fine-tune the audio experience and take full advantage of the wide dynamic range and spatial modulation. BMW says the 3D sound experience is refined and especially noticeable during acceleration.
Lastly, BMW says the HypersonX sound system is part of the Panoramic iDrive system, so all the sounds blend with the lights and design of the vehicle.
