After a somewhat controversial rebranding campaign and the unexpected cancellation of a nearly production-ready vehicle, British automaker Janguar unveiled a new concept car that reveals its vision for the electric future. Dubbed the Type 00, this futuristic EV is making its debut at Miami Art Week.
The Type 00 is a radical departure from Jaguar's current design language. The front end features a striking, rectangular grille flanked by slim headlights. The absence of traditional A-pillars creates an almost wraparound windshield and enhances the concept's sleek profile.
One of the most distinctive design elements is the so-called "strikethrough" – a bold, linear graphic that Jaguar introduced as part of its new logo and branding. This rectangular shape is prominently displayed on the front and rear of the concept car, creating a new visual identity for the brand. We don't know if this design element will end up on production models, but it certainly makes a statement on the concept.
The interior of the Type 00 is equally minimalist, with a focus on clean lines and advanced technology. There are cameras strategically positioned around the vehicle to compensate for the lack of a rear window.
The Design Vision Concept is purely a design study, but the company promised us a reimagined production car in late 2025. it will be an electric four‑door GT and it will be built in the UK.
Maybe instead of firing the creative agency that destroyed the iconic logo and firing the industrial design service that enjoys dis-functional engineering, Tata should try firing the internal leadership that hired these contractors.
