Just yesterday Rivian finally announced the date for its grand unveiling of the R2 - its more affordable SUV that should be much cheaper than its first SUV, the R1S. The R2 will be getting official on March 7, most likely in Laguna Beach, California, where Rivian's flagship store is located.
Today the company has started the teaser campaign for the upcoming model, with the X post you can see below showing its driver instruments display through the steering wheel.

The Rivian logo on the steering wheel is clearly visible, and the screen seems decidedly smaller than the one in the R1S. Smaller car, small screen, right?
But also - smaller price. Rivian's initial target for the R2 was to start at around $40,000, but that was a while back so it may have changed - hopefully not, but we'll have to wait for the event on March 7 in order to find out.
Sorry, but that's not the R2. That's an R1. It's a customer photo that rivian reposted. The original poster posted on Reddit clarifying it.
